RPG Library is a collection of links for role-playing related web sites, as well as links to books, movies, and reference materials. It includes a rating system so that you can get a feel for what other people think of a link before you click on it. Why would you care what other people think? Hell if I know.
We want this site to be visible to everyone, no matter what browser they are using. We can't test it with every browser that's ever been released (well, we could, but we won't), but we have tested it with the last few versions of both Firefox and Internet Explorer (yuck!), and we have also tested it with Lynx. If the site doesn't look right to you, let us know and we'll see if we can figure it out.
If you want to link to RPG Library, feel free to use one of these fetching logo graphics:
The Games category includes systems, settings, supplements and sourcebooks, and LARPs. Most of these will be freely available on the web ("free"). Some will be downloadable, but will require a fee if you play them ("shareware"). Some you may find source material for on the web, but the game itself can only be obtained by buying it ("commercial"). For commercial games, we will typically link to Amazon.com and/or Barnes & Noble so that you can buy from them. If you do follow the provided link and buy the book, RPG Library will get a small percentage of what you pay. It doesn't cost you anything extra (you actually get a discount), and the pennies go a small way toward paying RPG Library's bills.
The Accessories category includes materials which are not required to play a game, but are useful to have around, or that indirectly make the game more fun. These are items such as fun fonts, character sheets, dice, maps, pewter figures, and so on. As with the rest of RPG Library's database, we will strive to find as many free resources as we can. Obviously, material objects such as dice and pewter figures won't be free, but we'll link to the best sources for these we can find.
Questions, questions. Everyone has questions, and we are in no position to answer most of them. But many questions do have answers, so we will do our best to track down the most definitive answers we can find. If you know of a better FAQ, or a FAQ we don't have but should, you should add it. See that "Add a Link" hyperlink to your left? Click that hyperlink and follow the instructions: it's just that easy.
The Inspiration category includes a wide variety of anime, movies, novels, and reference materials not directly related to role-play gaming, but useful and interesting just the same. For commercially published inspirational material, we will typically link to Amazon.com and/or Barnes & Noble so that you can buy it. If you do follow the provided link and buy the book or movie, RPG Library will get a small percentage of what you pay. It doesn't cost you anything extra (you typically get a discount from the retail price), and RPG Library can put a few cents in the cookie jar.
Rate It allows you to put an inobtrusive voting button on your web site. Visitors to your site can quickly and easily rate your site with RPG Library, after which they are directed back to your site. It's quick and easy, check it out and take it for a spin.
