Caliessa

 

Caliessa is a half-Liassafar outcast - a changeling. Her mother was seduced by a Liassafar lord while out tending her animals in the northern mountains of Atrios. Caleaxia was born many months later and was lucky enough to have only inherited white hair and the facial cast of her mother's attacker (as well as unusual longevity). However this was enough to make her spurned in the village and eventually Caliessa was taken by her mother to a distant temple where she was taken in by the priests in exchange for a donation. Here Caliessa was raised and tutored by the priests. She was an apt student, and despite her unusual features grew to be much liked by her peers, and eventually initiated into the mysteries of the temple. At 18 Caliessa became an initiate and when she was 23, her training completed, she left the temple and journeyed to her villiage in search of her mother. Unfortunately, Caliessa's mother had left many years previously; driven away by the other people of the town for allowing the changeling to live. Caliessa abandoned her temple service to go in search of her mother but never found her. Instead she took up a life of adventure, but one day plans to journey into the depths of the world in order to make the Unciëre pay for the rape of her mother. Caliessa hates the Liassafar with all her heart.
